Government Office marks 70th founding anniversary
VGP – The Office of the Government on August 28 celebrated the 70th anniversary of Traditional Day (August 28, 1945 – August 28, 2015) and received the First-Class Independence Medal.

The event was attended by PM Nguyen Tan Dung, former State President Tran Duc Luong, former PM Phan Van Khai, as well as Former Chairman of the Viet Nam Fatherland Front Pham The Duyet, among others.
President Ho Chi Minh on August 28, 1945 read the historic Declaration of Independence of Viet Nam at Ba Dinh Square to found the temporary government of the Democratic Republic of Viet Nam.
The event marked the birth of an assisting apparatus of the new government. Thence, August 28 became the Traditional Day of the Office of the Government.
Addressing the anniversary, Minister-Chairman of the Office of the Government Nguyen Van Nen highlighted that over the past 70 years, generations of staff and civil servants have upheld the spirit of responsibility, devotion, solidarity, and creativeness to overcome all challenges to fulfil assigned missions and contribute to national independence and construction.
The Office of the Government is speeding up the administrative reform, IT application, e-Government building, along with improving personnel quality.
On behalf of the Government, Deputy PM Vu Van Ninh called on the Office to continue assisting the Government and the PM in all fields amidst the period of national industrialization and modernization.
On this occasion, PM Nguyen Tan Dung presented the First-Class Independence Medal to the Office of the Government./.
