General Secretary To Lam leaves for Board of Peace's inaugural meeting
VGP – General Secretary To Lam left Ha Noi on Wednesday for the inaugural meeting of the Board of Peace in Washington D.C. at the invitation of U.S. President Donald Trump.

The top Party leader is accompanied by Politburo member, Minister of National Defense Phan Van Giang; Politburo member, Minister of Public Security Luong Tam Quang; Politburo member, Secretary of the Ha Noi Municipal Party Committee Nguyen Duy Ngoc; Politburo member, Minister of Foreign Affairs Le Hoai Trung; Politburo member, Chairman of the Party Central Committee's Office Pham Gia Tuc; Minister of Finance Nguyen Van Thang; Governor of the State Bank of Viet Nam Nguyen Thi Hong; Acting Minister of Industry and Trade Le Manh Hung; Assistant to the Party General Secretary and head of the Party General Secretary's Office To An Xo; Vietnamese Ambassador to the U.S. Nguyen Quoc Dung.
The Party leader's participation in the inaugural meeting reflects Viet Nam's support for and readiness to join the international community's common efforts for peace and development. Also, this is a concrete step in realizing the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership between Viet Nam and the U.S.
The Board of Peace, initiated by President Donald Trump, follows a United Nations Security Council resolution from November 17, 2025, aims at promoting peace and supporting rescontruction efforts in Gaza./.
