General Secretary, President To Lam starts State visit to China

VGP – General Secretary and President To Lam and his entourage left Ha Noi on Saturday morning for a three-day State visit to China at the invitation of General Secretary and President Xi Jinping.

He is accompanied by Politburo members: President of the Viet Nam Fatherland Front Central Committee Do Van Chien, Head of the Central Organization Commission Le Minh Hung, Director of the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics and Chairman of the Central Theory Council Nguyen Xuan Thang, Minister of National Defense Phan Van Giang, Minister of Public Security Luong Tam Quang.

Other members of the Vietnamese delegation include Head of the Central Commission for External Affairs Le Hoai Trung, Chief of the Party Central Committee Office Nguyen Duy Ngoc, Deputy Prime Minister Tran Luu Quang, Vice Chairman of the National Assembly Nguyen Khac Dinh.

This is To Lam's first foreign visit since he was elected as the Party chief, indicating that the Party and State of Viet Nam attach great importance to the development of the friendship and comprehensive cooperation between Viet Nam and China.

With this visit, Viet Nam expects to work with the Chinese side to advance the implementation of the high-level agreements, particularly the agreements reached during late Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong's visit to China in 2022 and General Secretary and President Xi Jinping's visit to Viet Nam in 2023 in order to further strengthen and deepen the Viet Nam-China Comprehensive Strategic Cooperative Partnership and the Viet Nam-China Community with a Shared Future having strategic significance./.
