Fruit and vegetable exports see positive signs
VGP - Fruit and vegetable exports totaled nearly US$1 billion in the first quarter, representing a year-on-year increase of seven percent, according to the Center for Digital Transformation and Statistics under the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (MARD).

Rising demand in China and increased prices were among key factors that led to growth in vegetable and fruit exports, said Secretary General of the Viet Nam Fruit Association (Vinafruit) Dang Hong Phuc.
Thanks to China's strengthening demand, Viet Nam's fruit and vegetable exports would increase by at least 10 percent in second quarter, bringing total revenue of vegetable and fruit exports to US$2 billion in the first half of 2023.
Viet Nam's major fruit and vegetable exports to China include durian, jackfruit, and banana.
The Foreign Trade Agency under the Ministry of Industry and Trade reported that processed products accounted for a third of fruit and vegetable exports in 2022.
In 2023, export turnover of fruits and vegetables is expected to reach the US$4 billion for the first time./.
