Nguyen Van Quang elected as Chief Justice of Supreme People's Court

VGP – Legislators on Monday elected Nguyen Van Quang, former Secretary of the Da Nang Municipal Party Committee, as new Chief Justice of the Supreme People's Court.

Nguyen, aged 56, will replace his predecessor Le Minh Tri who has been assigned by the Politburo to undertake the new role as Vice Chairman of the Central Commission for Internal Affairs.

In his oath-taking remarks, the Chief Justice of the Supreme People's Court promised to uphold the sense of responsibility and promote judicial reform in favor of the national development process.

The Supreme People's Court will continue to streamline the apparatus and improve operational efficiency, he said./.
