Foreign minister meets Thai, Malaysian counterparts
VGP – Vietnamese Foreign Minister Bui Thanh Son met with Thai Deputy Prime Minister, Foreign Minister Parnpree Bahiddha-Nukara and Malaysian Foreign Minister Dato' Seri Utama Haji Mohamad Bin Haji Hasan on the sidelines of ASEAN Retreat in Luang Prabang, Laos on January 29.
Bui spoke highly of Thai Deputy Prime Minister, Foreign Minister Parnpree Bahiddha-Nukara's official visit to Viet Nam in October last year, expressing his wish that the two foreign ministries will continue tightening collaboration and promote their bridging role in intensifying the relations between the two countries.
Both sides agreed to step up the exchange of high-level delegations and realize the contents of cooperation agreed by the two Prime Ministers during their 4th joint Cabinet meeting.
Bui took the occasion to invite the Thai official to visit Viet Nam and co-chair the 5th meeting of the Viet Nam-Thailand Joint Committee for Bilateral Cooperation in April 2024.
At his meeting with Malaysian counterpảt, Bui congratulated Utama Haji Mohamad Bin Haji Hasan upon his appointment as new Foreign Minister of Malaysia.
Bui affirmed that Viet Nam's resolve to further strengthen cooperation with Malaysia.
Both sides agreed to continue realizing the contents of cooperation agreed by the two countries' senior leaders in the action plan for the Viet Nam-Malaysia strategic partnership for 2021-2025 and the outcomes of the 7th meeting of the Viet Nam-Malaysia Joint Commission.
Both sides also agreed to continue close coordination and support for Laos to successfully undertake its role as the ASEAN Chair in 2024 and to cement ASEAN solidarity for peace and prosperity in the region.
