The visit to Laos on October 8–9 and Cambodia on October 9–10 marked Prime Minister Le Minh Hung's first official visit to the two neighboring countries since taking office. This is also Le's first foreign official visit as Prime Minister of Viet Nam.

During the visit, the Vietnamese Prime Minister held summit meetings with Lao and Cambodian leaders, exchanging views on bilateral relations and issues of shared interests. The discussions helped consolidate political trust, enhance mutual understanding and chart major orientations for advancing Viet Nam's relations with both countries.

The leaders reaffirmed the importance of defense and security cooperation, identifying it as a key pillar of bilateral ties.

The visit also provided an opportunity for the leaders to review the implementation of existing cooperation agreements and assess bilateral cooperation across various fields.

The leaders addressed and substantially resolved a number of longstanding difficulties and bottlenecks hindering the implementation of their joint cooperation projects.

As a result, numerous projects agreed upon by the two Parties' Politburos and senior leaders have made further progress and delivered tangible results. The visit also identified new areas of cooperation and opened up opportunities for additional joint projects, generating fresh momentum and development resources for Viet Nam, Laos and Cambodia.

According to Foreign Minister Le Hoai Trung, the visit stood as testament to Viet Nam's consistent pursuance of the foreign policy orientations set out at the 14th National Congress of the Communist Party of Viet Nam, which place high priority on relations with neighboring countries, particularly Laos and Cambodia.

The visit also laid an important foundation for upcoming high-level exchanges and new cooperation initiatives, contributing to the continued enhancement of Viet Nam's relations with the two countries.

Beyond their immediate outcomes, the visit helped prepare for major milestones in bilateral relations, including the 65th founding anniversary of Viet Nam–Laos relations, the 50th anniversary of the signing of the Viet Nam–Laos Treaty of Friendship and Cooperation, and the 60th founding anniversary of Viet Nam–Cambodia relations./.
