Foreign minister Bui Thanh Son visits China
VGP - Vietnamese Foreign Minister Bui Thanh Son has embarked on an official visit to China on April 3-4 at the invitation of his Chinese counterpart Wang Yi.
The visit takes place at a time when the comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership between Viet Nam and China is developing positively and reaping important gains.
The visit targets to continue to concretize the two countries' high-level common perceptions in maintaining the positive development momentum of Viet Nam - China relations.
It gives both sides the chance to review and identify key areas in bilateral relations in 2024 and the following years, helping to deepen and elevate the comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership to new heights.
During the two-day visit, Foreign Minister Bui will hold talks with Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi, meet with leaders of the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, visit the Ho Chi Minh Memorial House in Longzhou (Guangxi), and participate in other important activities.
Over the time, the Viet Nam - China comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership has maintained positive development, achieving many significant outcomes. The leaders of both Parties and States maintain frequent exchanges and contacts. Notably, there were the visits of General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong to China in October 2022 and subsequently the state-level visit to Viet Nam by General Secretary and President of China Xi Jinping, in December 2023.
Last year, two-way trade turnover valued US$171.9 billion. China invested US$4.47 billion in 700 projects in Viet Nam, ranking fourth in the sum of capital and first in the number of projects./.
