Foreign leaders congratulate President To Lam

VGP – Leaders of the U.S., and the Netherlands have extended congratulations to To Lam who was elected President of Viet Nam on May 22.

In his congratulatory letter, U.S. President Joe Biden congratulated To Lam upon his election as President of Viet Nam, reaffirming his Administration's commitment to support a strong, independent, self-reliant and prosperous Viet Nam.

Biden expressed his pleasure at the remarkable progress in the Viet Nam-U.S. relations since the two countries normalized their ties nearly 29 years ago, and emphasized the newly-established comprehensive strategic partnership will be a driving force for prosperity and security in the region.

President Biden expressed his belief that the Viet Nam-U.S. relations would further advance in the years to come as Viet Nam and the U.S. are friend and partner. He also express his wish to work with President To Lam to translate such belief into reality and to build a peaceful, prosperous and secure work for all.

In his congratulatory message, Dutch King Willem-Alexander extended congratulations and best wishes for success in President To Lam's new role.

The Dutch King expressed his belief that the constructive and extensive partnership between Viet Nam and the Netherlands would continue upward trajectory for the benefits and prosperity of the two countries.

On the occasion, President of Germany Frank Walter-Steinmeier, President of Bulgaria Rumen Radev and President of Serbia Aleksandar Vucic also cabled congratulatory messages to President To Lam./.
