Flood death toll rises to over 30

VGP – At least 31 people died and two others went missing in flood raging the central provinces, the National Committee for Search and Rescue reported Sunday.

The fierce flood injured three others in provinces of Quang Nam, Quang Ngai, and Binh Dinh.

Nearly 100,000 hourses are inundated, collapsed or blown up and 431 hectares of crops have been damaged, according to the committee.

Da Nang city, Quang Nam, Quang Ngai, Binh Dinh and Phu Yen have evacuated 63,091 residents to safer places.

The flood, which caused by torrential rains over the past days, also blocked the National Highway 19 running through Quy Nho, resulting in prolonged traffic congestion yesterday, according to Tuoitrenews./.
