Farm-forestry-aquatic exports reach US$30.8 bln in 2014
VGP – The exports of the agriculture sector are estimated to reach US$30.8 billion in 2014, up 11.2% compared to the previous year, according to the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (MARD).

Viet Nam can earn US$7.92 billion from exporting aquatic products at the end of this year, up 18.4%.
The US remains the largest seafood importer of Viet Nam, accounting for 21.81% of the total.
The wood and wooden products exports are expected to attain US$6.2 billion in 2014, up 11.1%. The US, China, and Japan are the three largest timber importers of Viet Nam, making up 66% of the total.
The export of coffee is witnessing a sharp increase with an estimated export volume of 1.73 million tons, worth US$3.62 billion, up 33.4% in volume and up 33.2% in value.
Other products may see increases in the export value such as vegetables with US$1.47 billion, up 34.9%, peppercorns with US$1.2 billion, up 34.1% and cashews with US$2 billion, up 21.1%.
To achieve the goal of gaining US$31 billion from the farm-forestry-aquatic exports in 2015, the MARD will actively establish programs to launch signed bilateral and multi-lateral conventions and agreements.
In addition, Viet Nam will take part in negotiating Free Trade Agreements, strengthen market development activities, and update information about commercial policies in other countries./.
