Famous geographic sites featured in Vietnamese currency

VGP – Viet Nam’s national currency, Vietnamese dong, features special cultural destinations in the country, namely Hoi An bridge pagoda in central Hoi An town, Luong Dinh Estrafe and Phu Van La in central Hue imperial city, the Constellation of Literature pavilion in Ha Noi, Ha Long Bay in northern Quang Ninh province and the cottage of President Ho Chi Minh in central Nghe An province.

Hoi An bridge pagoda reflects cultural exchanges of Viet Nam, Japan and China

The bridge was build by the donation of Japanese merchants around the 17th century. It is also called Japanese bridge, though its architecture is bold Viet Nam style.

According to local people, the bridge was recognized as a sword plunged into the back of mamazu monster that made him unable to wave his tail, so that to cause earthquakes. In 1653, the temple was built, connecting the northern railing. Since there, Bridge Pagoda became the name.

Chùa Cầu (Bridge pagoda) is one of the relics has special architecture. It is about 18 m long and has roofs curving over the Thu Bon River near Nguyen Thi Minh Khai and Tran Phu streets. The roof tiles are covering all the bridge. At its main entrance, there's a large plate embossed 3 Chinese characters mean "The Welcoming bridge".

Though called "chùa" (place for worshiping the Buddha), the temple has no Buddha statue. The main hall (that called Chùa) is reserved for worshiping Bắc Đế Trấn Võ – the God protecting the northern region who is believed to bring happiness and wealth to the people in the region.

Located beside the Perfume River in central Hue imperial city, Nghinh Luong Dinh served the king and his officials when they need fresh air and romantic and ventilated view.

Not far from it, Phu Van Lau was built in 1819 under the Gia Long emperor’s reign. It served as the place where the royal decree of the king and the court, or the results of the contests organized by the court were hung.  

Temple of Literature is a famous tourism site in Ha Noi

Khue Van Cac is one of the important ancient construction sites locaed inside the Temple of Literature (Quoc Tu Giam), Viet Nam’s first university, in Ha Noi.

Khue Van Cac, built in 1805, is a roof of eight sides.

Van Mieu – Quoc Tu Giam is named a special national vestige site. The main structure is Van Mieu – temple of literature – where Khong Tu (Confucius) was worshipped and Quoc Tu Giam – the first university of Viet Nam.

Ha Long Bay is a world’s outstanding natural heritage

Ha Long bay in northern Quang Ninh province has been recognized as a world natural heritage by UNESCO twice. It is home to thousands of islets and karst structure. The bay has spectacular view, attracting many domestic and international tourists to visit.

Since possessing important proofs of the forming and developing process of the earth, Ha Long bay is a unique heritage and a masterpiece of nature.

Besides, Ha Long bay ecology is also diverse with fauna and flora species numbering thousands. This place also owns important cultural and historical values of the nation.

Simple house of Great President Ho Chi Minh in Nghe An province

Everyone can recognize the simple-style thatched house where President Ho Chi Minh spent his entire childhood. The cottage is in Sen village, Kim Lien ward, Nam Dan district, Nghe An province, in the central region of Vietnam. It is about 15km from Vinh city.

The whole area contains four main vestiges: the homeland of President Ho Chi Minh’s mother (Hoang Tru or Chua village), the homeland of President Ho Chi Minh’s father (Sen village), Chung mountain (Kim Lien ward) and the tomb of Hoang Thi Loan (mother of President Ho Chi Minh) in Nam Giang ward./.
