Exports to EU increase by over 18% in first half
VGP – Viet Nam’s export turnover to 27 European Union member states witnessed a year-on-year increase of 18.3% in the first half of 2021.
The news was released at a video-conference jointly held by the Viet Nam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) and the European Chamber of Commerce (EuroCham) on August 27 to review one-year implementation of the EU-Viet Nam free trade agreement (EVFTA).
At the event, the participants shared success stories and remaining obstacles especially amidst the COVID-19 pandemic time with a view to optimizing opportunities brought by the new-generation trade deal which came into effect on August 1, 2020.
As of late June, the EU had 2,221 valid FDI projects in Viet Nam with total registered capital of US$ 22.21 billion, representing a year-on-year rise of US$ 449 million./.
