The statement was made at a seminar on assessing rural electrification in Việt Nam held by the Ministry of Industry and Trade in coordination with the World Bank and the Sociology Institute on December 9 in Hà Nội.

The electrification has also promoted economic restructuring, agricultural development, and handicraft production.

Mr. Hoàng Quốc Vượng, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade, said all districts, 98% of communes, and nearly 95.1% of households throughout the country have already had access to the national power grid.
