During his meeting with Tajikistani President Emomali Rahmon, Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha suggested the two countries spur cooperation in climate change and water management.

Meeting the FAO official, the Deputy Prime Minister asked the organization to assist Viet Nam in improving natural resource management, especially agricultural land and transboundary and inland water sources.

In reply, FAO Director-General Qu Dongyu pledged to provide technical support for Viet Nam’s agricultural sector.

Mr Tran suggested UNFPA assist Viet Nam in policy making and implementation in social welfare policies, developing a set of indicators to assess population, reproductive health, youth and gender equality in harmony with international standards.

Executive Director of UNFPA Natalia Kanem affirmed that UNFPA will continue to support Viet Nam to implement the new Country Program for Viet Nam 2022-2026.

During the reception for U.S. Special Presidential Envoy for Climate John Kerry, the Deputy Prime Minister called on the U.S. Administration to continue support for Viet Nam to materialize its commitments at the COP26 and the Just Energy Transition Partnership./.
