Dong Nai to be placed under social distancing from Friday

VGP – The southern province of Dong Nai has decided to impose social distancing rules in the entire locality in accordance with the Government’s Directive No. 16, starting from July 9.

July 08, 2021 10:00 PM GMT+7

The decision was made amid complex evolution of the COVID-19 pandemic in the province.

Dong Nai has recorded 160 COVID-19 infection cases so far, including 128 cases since the fourth wave of COVID-19 resurgence began in Viet Nam in late April.

Among the above 128 cases, 93 were linked to a COVID-19 outbreak in a wholesale market in Ho Chi Minh City’s Hoc Mon District.

The current COVID-19 wave is evolving swiftly in Ho Chi Minh City and its surrounding localities, with the southern metropolis reporting 9,066 from April 27 to 6:30 pm on July 8.

Ho Chi Minh City has been placed under social distancing since May 31 in accordance with the Government’s Directive No. 15.

Due to rapid surge of new infections over the past days, the city will impose stricter social distancing rules in accordance with the Government’s Directive No. 16 from July 9.

Under Directive No. 16, only factories, businesses and service establishments producing and providing essential goods and services are allowed to open and asked to ensure workers follow strict health guidelines.

All people are requested to stay at home and only go out in case of emergencies, buying food or medicine, or going to work at factories and essential services that are not closed down or halt operations.

If leaving home, people are to keep a minimum distance of two meters from each other. Any gathering of more than two people in public outside of offices, schools and hospitals is banned./.
