Viet Nam and New Zealand established diplomatic relations on June 19, 1975 and upgraded their ties into a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership last February to mark the 50th founding anniversary of diplomatic relations.

Meanwhile, the relations between Viet Nam and Australia have grown strongly, particularly following the upgrade of the bilateral ties to a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership in March 2024. Both sides are implementing on schedule commitments and cooperation initiatives outlined in the action plan for implementing the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership for the 2024-2027 period.

Australia and New Zealand are important and highly potential partners of Viet Nam in the fields of science and technology, green transition, and climate change response./.
