Deputy Prime Minister Le Van Thanh passes away

VGP – Deputy Prime Minister Le Van Thanh passed away in his hometown Hai Phong city at 8:20 PM on August 22, 2023 after an illness, acccording to the Central Committee on Health Care for Senior Governmental Officials.

Details of the memorial services and burial ceremony for the Deputy Prime Minister will be announced later.

Mr. Le Van Thanh was born in October 20, 1962 in Tan Lien commune, Vinh Bao district of the northern city of Hai Phong.

He served as Secretary of Hai Phong Municipal Party Committee, Chairman of Hai Phong People’s Committee from October 2015 to December 2015.

From January 2016 to June 2016, he was a member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of Hai Phong Municipal Party Committee, Chairman of Hai Phong People’s Committee.

From July 2016 to April 2021, he was a member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of Hai Phong Municipal Party Committee.

From April 2021 to present, he has been a member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Prime Minster./.
