Le expressed his pleasure at the increasingly substantive growth of Viet Nam-Japan comprehensive strategic partnership across all fields, saying the official visit to Viet Nam by Prime Minister Takaichi Sanae last May marked an important milestone in the history of the bilateral ties.

Le also thanked Japan for its effective cooperation and important contributions to the realization of socio-economic goals in Viet Nam, and voiced his support for Japan to play a greater role in addressing regional and global issues through its initiatives in digital transformation and energy security fields.

He suggested the two countries continue to consolidate political trust, promote bilateral cooperation mechanisms, including the Viet Nam-Japan Cooperation Committee, and work together to successfully organize the second local cooperation forum in the central city of Hue in September this year.

The Deputy Prime Minister also asked the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan to coordinate with Viet Nam in streamlining immigration procedures for Vietnamese citizens in a bid to double the current number of tourists between the two sides.

For his part, Motegi affirmed that Japan attaches importance to Viet Nam's role in realizing its Free and Open Indo-Pacific (FOIP) Strategy.

Japan expects that both countries would further strengthen local cooperation, people-to-people exchanges, work closely together in implementing the high-level agreements, and coordinate closely over regional and international issues of shared concern./.
