These meetings took place as part of the Deputy Prime Minister's three-day working visit to Laos.

The Deputy Prime Minister emphasized the need to further strengthen political trust between the two countries, enhance the effectiveness of economic, trade, and investment ties, deepen defense and security collaboration, promote local-to-local exchanges, and support each other at regional and international forums.

The Lao leaders urged both sides to focus on strengthening connectivity between the two economies, including the implementation of strategic cooperation projects, particularly infrastructure connectivity initiatives such as the Ha Noi–Vientiane expressway.

Lao Prime Minister Sonexay Siphandone proposed that the ministries, agencies, and sectors of both countries should work to expedite the implementation of high-level agreements between the two nations.

He encouraged Vietnamese businesses to invest in Laos, particularly in energy, mining, telecommunications, tourism, and high-tech agriculture.

Siphandone called on both sides to join hands in organizing important commemorative events in 2025 and enhance information sharing, close coordination, and mutual support at international and regional forums, as well as within sub-regional mechanisms.

The same day, Nguyen held talks with his Lao counterpart Saleumsay Kommasith.

Both sides vowed to promote and create breakthroughs in economic, trade, and investment cooperation, aiming to raise bilateral trade volume to US$5 billion in the near future.

They pledged to boost cooperation in culture, sports, tourism, education, local partnerships, and people-to-people exchanges, particularly through enhancing the teaching and learning of Vietnamese and Lao languages at educational institutions in both countries.

The host and the guest committed to accelerating the completion of several key infrastructure projects by 2025./.
