Deputy PM meets with foreign officials in New York
VGP - Standing Deputy Prime Minister Pham Binh Minh attended a banquet hosted by U.S. President Joe Biden and met senior foreign officials on September 22, within the framework of the 77th session of the UN General Assembly (UNGA 77) in New York.
At the banquet, Minh thanked Biden for supporting the Viet Nam – U.S. relations for many decades.
Viet Nam always regards the U.S. as one of the most important partners and wishes to continue boosting their comprehensive partnership in the interest of the two peoples and for peace, stability, cooperation, and development in the region and the world.
The U.S. leader highlighted his sentiment towards Viet Nam since he was a senator, adding he always supports the strong development of bilateral relations.
Biden also recalled Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong's historic visit to the U.S. in 2015 and said he hopes to pay an official visit to Viet Nam at an appropriate time.
The same day, Deputy PM Minh had meetings with President of the Marshall Islands David Kabua, Indonesian Foreign Minister Retno Marsudi, U.S. Deputy Secretary of State Wendy Sherman, U.S. Ambassador to the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) Cindy McCain./.
