Deputy PM Le Minh Khai receives President of Samsung Viet Nam

VGP – Deputy Prime Minister Le Minh Khai suggested Samsung expand investment and speed up construction process of a research and development center in Viet Nam.

The Deputy Prime Minister made the point on December 6 in Ha Noi while receiving President of Samsung Viet Nam Choi Joo-ho.

Le assured that the Government remains consistent with the implementation of Resolution No. 128/NQ-CP on safe and flexible adaption to the COVID-19 pandemic while asking Samsung Viet Nam to work with local authorities to maintain smooth production activities in the pandemic time.

Samsung has invested US$ 17.74 billion in eight production sites in Bac Ninh, Thai Nguyen, and Ho Chi Minh City, according to President Choi.

In 2021, Samsung Viet Nam started construction of a US$220 million research and development center in Ha Noi, which is expected to put into operation by the end of next year.

In the first ten months this year, Samsung Viet Nam’s revenue totaled US$60.47 billion, said Choi.

He appreciated the great support for Samsung Viet Nam from the Government and relevant localities during the fourth COVID-19 wave in Viet Nam./.
