Deputy PM Hue to attend WEF annual meeting and visit Portugal
VGP – Deputy PM Vuong Dinh Hue will attend the World Economic Forum annual meeting in Davos, Switzerland from January 22-25 and pay an official visit to Portugal from January 26-28.

The 48th WEF Annual Meeting will take place from January 23-26 in Davos.
The Deputy PM was accompanied by Permanent Deputy FM Bui Thanh Son; Vice Chairman of the Office of the Government Nguyen Sy Hiep; and General Director of Viettel Corporation Nguyen Manh Hung.
The 48th WEF Annual Meeting attracts over 340 leading political leaders around the world, 1,900 private businessmen, 900 leaders from non-governmental organizations, scholars, research institutions, labor unions, social enterprises, and media agencies.
The meeting is themed “Creating a Shared Future in a Fractured World”— an important conversation today as geo-strategic fissures reemerge on multiple fronts, with wide-ranging political, economic and social consequences.
Deputy PM Hue will lead a Governmental and business delegation to participate in the plenary session; meet with leaders of other countries, international organizations, and enterprises; deliver a speech at a session of the ASEAN Regional Strategy Group (RSG), a discussion on ASEAN strategic prospects; and a dialogue on creative finance on the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs),
Especially, Mr Hue will attend and deliver a speech at a night banquet on ASEAN under the theme “ ASEAN in the Fourth Industrial Revolution,” organized by the WEF with the attendance of the PM of Papua New Guinea, Ministers of Singapore, Indonesia,Thailand, Australia, and others.
Via the 2018 Davos, the Vietnamese Government hopes to highlight the consistent orientations on wider and deeper economic integration; encourages countries to shake hands to rifts due to geopolitical instability and trade protection trends.
In addition, Viet Nam hopes to advertise its role as the host of the WEF on ASEAN 2018 scheduled in September, 2018 in Ha Noi.
* In the official visit to Portugal, the Deputy PM will be accompanied by Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Hoang Quoc Vuong, Deputy Minister of Home Affairs Nguyen Duy Thang, and Deputy Minister of Labor, Invalids, and Social Affairs Doan Mau Diep.
During the three-day visit, Mr. Hue and the Vietnamese delegation will meet with the Chair of the Cortes Generals; the Minister of Labor and Social Security; the Minister of Economics, and attend the Spain-Viet Nam investment promotion seminar./.
