Defense minister meets Korean Prime Minister
VGP - Minister of National Defense Phan Van Giang paid a courtesy call on Prime Minister Han Duck-soo on March 29 on the occasion of his three-day official visit to South Korea.
Phan reiterated that Viet Nam always treasures the comprehensive and trusted cooperation with South Korea.
He spoke highly of the outstanding achievements in the bilateral relations, including upgrading their ties into comprehensive strategic partnership, which have created synergies for fostering their ties more intensively and effectively.
The minister briefed the Prime Minister about the outcomes of his meeting with his Korean counterpart Lee Jong-sup, during which both sides agreed on measures to bolster defense cooperation in the upcoming time.
Phan expressed his hope that the Korean Government and relevant agencies will support Viet Nam in overcoming war aftermath.
The minister also expected that the Prime Minister Han will advocate the two defense ministries to further strengthen substantive and effective cooperation.
Han asserted that South Korea considers Viet Nam as one of its most crucial partners in the region, expressing his wish to promote collaboration with Viet Nam across all sectors of diplomacy and economics.
Han suggested the two sides should continue enhancing coordination in defense, including military industry, calling on the Vietnamese Government to back South Korea to host the World Expo 2030 Busan./.
