Specifically, at kindergarten level, 49 localities out of 63 cities and provinces in Viet Nam permitted physical classes.

Meanwhile, over 1.45 million kids accounting for 44.69% in 14 other provinces and cities learn online. These localities are Ha Noi, Da Nang (excluding Thanh Khe and Son Tra districts), Tien Giang (excluding under five-year old kids), Bac Lieu (excluding under five-year old kids), An Giang, Phu Yen, Lao Cai, Tuyen Quang, Dak Nong, Vinh Phuc, Phu Tho, Quang Ninh, Hung Yen, and Da Lak.

Primary schools in eleven provinces and cities remain closed, which means 784,000 learners have to learn online. These localities include An Giang (first and second grades), Tien Giang (third and fourth grades), Ha Noi (at 12 urban districts), Dak Lak (Buon Me Thuot), Lao Cai, Tuyen Quang, Hung Yen, Dak Nong, Vinh Phuc, Phu Tho, and Quang Ninh.

Four localities also have decided to close physical classes for 507,000 students at secondary high schools, namely Ba Ria-Vung Tau, Phu Tho, Lao Cai, Vinh Phuc and Ha Noi (the sixth grade at 12 urban districts).

In addition, hundreds of thousands of kindergartners and primary school students in several northern provinces have to stay at home from Monday amid the Viet Nam's worst cold spell in years.
