Addressing the event, the PM highlighted that the project not only contributes to socio-economic development in the central province of Nghe An but also strengthens the strategic partnership between Viet Nam and Singapore.
PM Dung thanked the Singaporean Government for facilitating VSIP investor Sembcorp's successful investments in Viet Nam.
The strategic partnership and economic cooperation agreements between Viet Nam and Singapore have flourished, bringing back practical benefits for the two sides.
Singapore is always one of Viet Nam’s leading investors and trading partners. The two-way trade turnover expanded yearly by 20% over the last decade, touched around US$10 billion last year and is likely to hit US$11 billion in 2015. Singapore’s total FDI into Viet Nam valued around US$33 billion. Most of them were proved successful.
Since the establishment of the first VSIP in Binh Duong (1996), six VSIPs succeeded in Viet Nam, attracted a lot of investors, contributed to socio-economic development and benefited the two countries.
The project has a VND 1.7 trillion investment for its first phase and will cover 750 hectares.
VSIP Nghe An is an ideal destination for investors and thousands of local workers.
The PM also proposed local leaders and residents closely work with investors to realize the project on schedule at good quality; protect the environment and ensure social security./.
