Addressing the ceremony, the Party chief highlighted the significance of the project, not only for the capital city of Ha Noi but also for the national strategy for protection, care and improvement of the people's health, especially the elderly.
It demonstrates the capital's determination to applying special mechanisms and policies to implement large-scale and important projects with long-term effects, noted To.
The General Secretary hailed the close coordination among the State, educational institutions, scientists, and enterprises in launching the project.
The project is the model of a smart and a green hospital, applying high technology and AI in diagnosis, treatment, hospital operations management, and management of residential care areas.
With an estimated total investment of VND 16,093 billion (US$612 million), the project will also serve as a site for deploying advanced medical technologies such as organ transplantation, robotic surgery, minimally invasive interventions, stem cell therapy, gene therapy, radiotherapy, 3D printing technology, and high-tech medical imaging.
The first phase is expected to be completed in 2028, with full completion targeted for 2030.
The core of the project is the Zone 1, with a research area of approximately 15 hectares, of which the planned construction land area is about 12.9 hectares, which includes a hospital complex and specialized centers with a capacity of around 2,600 beds.
The Zone 2, covering an area of about 0.7 hectares, includes a six-story podium and two 35-story towers, three basement levels, and a total of approximately 1,100 apartments designed for older adults./.
