In 2025, border provinces started construction of 108 inter-level boarding schools, which are expected to be completed by August 30, this year.
All the 229 boarding shools are expected to be put into operation in 2027-2028 academic year.

Addressing the ceremony, General Secretary To Lam underlined that the Party and the State have consistently devoted significant attention and investment to the development of education and training in border areas.
However, the school system—especially multi-level boarding schools in border communes—remains limited, and students still face many difficulties in their learning conditions, with a noticeable gap compared to schools in lowland areas. Therefore, the Politburo has decided to invest in the construction of multi-level boarding schools in 248 land border communes, shared the leader.
This is a sound and highly humanitarian policy, reflecting the special care and attention of the Party and the State for people living in border, remote, and disadvantaged areas, stressed the Party leader.
The completion of these new schools will provide teachers and students with better teaching and learning environments, ensuring every child's right to education in an equal and fair manner, he noted.
The schools whose construction is being launched today, as well as those initiated earlier, will soon be completed and put into effective operation, becoming "soft milestones" of education in border areas, contributing to human resource development, promoting sustainable socio-economic growth, and inspiring confidence in the future of the nation's border regions, told the Party leader./.
