Chief Justice appointed as Deputy Prime Minister

VGP – Legislators on Monday confirmed Chief Justice of the Supreme People's Court Nguyen Hoa Binh as Deputy Prime Minister at the proposal of Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh.

Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Hoa Binh

Nguyen Hoa Binh, aged 66, was born in Nghia Hanh district of the central province of Quang Ngai.

He is a member of the Party Central Committee tenures 11th, 12th, and 13th; a member of the 13th Politburo; Secretary of the Party Central Committee's Secretariat tenures 12th and 13th; deputy to the National Assembly tenures 13th, 14th and 15th.

He began his public security career in Quang Nam-Da Nang in 1980s and then worked at the Ministry of Public Security.

In April 2008, he was designated as Vice Secretary of the Quang Ngai Provincial Party Committee. Three years later, he was elected Secretary of the Quang Ngai Provincial Party Committee.

In July 2011, the National Assembly elected him as Prosecutor General of the Supreme People's Procuracy of Viet Nam.

From April 2015 to August 26, 2024, he served as Chief Justice of the Supreme People's Court./.
