Bottlenecks of key transport projects must be removed: Prime Minister
VGP - Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh urged ministries, sectors and localities to take drastic measures to resolve obstacles faced by key transport projects in 2024.
The Government chief made the request on March 29 while presiding over the 10th meeting of the State Steering Committee on key national transport projects.
He tasked his inferiors to to fully address site clearance issues for the north-south expressway project for the 2021-2025 period before April 30, along with three East-West expressways and two ring road projects in the second quarter of this year.
He ordered faster land clearance for key projects such as Ho Chi Minh City Ring Road No.3’s Tan Van - Nhon Trach section, Bien Hoa - Vung Tau expressway, and the road to Long Thanh international airport.
Ha Noi and Ho Chi Minh City, the two largest cities were tasked to oversee investors and contractors, closely work with relevant agencies to finalize necessary procedures for the completion of the Ben Thanh - Suoi Tien metro line and the elevated section of the Nhon – Ha Noi railway metro line.
The country now has 34 major transport projects and 86 component ones being implemented in its 46 cities and provinces. They include five railway projects, two airport projects, highways, and ring roads in Ha Noi and Ho Chi Minh City.
In 2024, the Government targets to disburse VND 657 trillion (US$26.82 billion) in public investment capital, most of which is for transport infrastructure development./.
