Berggruen Holdings pledges to support Viet Nam to establish development investment fund
VGP - Berggruen Holdings stands ready to work with Viet Nam in human resources training and help the country establish a development investment fund, said Founder and Chairman of the US-based company Nicolas Berggruen.
Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh hosted a reception for Founder and Chairman of the U.S.-based company Nicolas Berggruen and Director of the Weatherhead East Asian Institute at the Columbia University Nguyen Thi Lien Hang in Ha Noi on January 7.
Pham said education and training remains a bright spot of the Viet Nam-U.S. relations, with an increasing number of Vietnamese students studying in the U.S.
Prime Minister Pham proposed Berggruen Holdings mull over investments in some culturally and historically significant projects and support Viet Nam to promote its culture abroad, enrich its cultural identity, and boost its cultural industry.
Pham also suggested the company work with the Vietnamese side in education, research, and workforce development.
In reply, Nicolas Berggruen expressed his admiration to the country's remarkable transformation over the years.
He was convinced that Viet Nam will rise in the future, increasingly upholding its political and economic roles on the global stage.
On this occasion, Prime Minister Pham praised Director Nguyen Thi Lien Hang for her active contributions to the organization of Vietnamese high-ranking leaders' recent policy dialogues and her attendance at these events./.
