Ms. Gillian Bird made the statement on Thursday when paying a working visit to Việt Nam.
The agreement covers tariff removal and abrogation and offers simple administrative reforms and updated information relating to trade in goods, she said.
Australia, as she revealed, will offer technical assistance to and help Việt Nam develop infrastructure, education, labor force training, and transportation.
AANZFTA aims at building a free trade market of more than 600 million consumers with the GDP rate of over US $2,500 billion.
Under the agreement, 90% of tax categories shall be removed by 2018. Almost all the services and investment fields will be opened to all players. And skilled laborers will have more opportunities to join the regional labor market.
