Asian Indoor Games III – For a Rising Asia

VGP – The 3rd Asian Indoor (AI) Games is not only the ever biggest international sports event hosted by Việt Nam but also a socio-political event which helps to confirm the country’s status in the international arena.

AI Games III themed “For a Rising Asia” is taking place from October 30 to November 8 in 28 competition venues in 6 cities and provinces - Hà Nội, Hồ Chí Minh City, Bắc Ninh, Quảng Ninh, Hải Phòng and Hải Dương.

Some 5,000 athletes from 45 countries and territories will compete for 219 sets of medals in 20 sports events.

Despite many challenges, especially those posed by the global economic crisis, Việt Nam has completed all necessary preparations for the successful organization of the regional games.

The opening ceremony will be held solemnly at 8,00 PM on October 30 at the Mỹ Đình National Stadium, Hà Nội, with the attendance of nearly 50,000 people, including 40,000 spectators, and about 4,500 performers.
