ASEAN stands for stability and reconciliation in Thailand
VGP – As the Chair of ASEAN, Việt Nam on May 21 issued a statement on situation in Thailand after consulting ASEAN member states, including Thailand, on the basis of consensus.

All ASEAN member states express concerns over the violence in Thailand while highlighting support and solidarity to people and the Government of the Kingdom for a peaceful solution to the challenge on the basis of dialogues in full respect of democratic and legitimate principles, the statement said.
ASEAN member states, the statement stressed, advocate for early restoration of laws, order, national reconciliation and peace in Thailand in line with the above principles for the sake of Thai people and with a vision towards the ASEAN Community.
ASEAN members make an emphasis that peace, stability and development of Thailand are of significance for the building of the ASEAN Community in 2015. They are convinced that, with their self-reliance, the Thai people will surmount the challenge.
ASEAN stands ready to support Thailand as much as possible on the foundation of the principles as stipulated in the ASEAN Charter./.
