Airlines asked to reduce domestic flights to Tan Son Nhat airport
VGP – The Civil Aviation Authority of Viet Nam has asked airlines to reduce the total number of domestic round-trip flights to Tan Son Nhat airport in Ho Chi Minh City to 63 per week.
The move, applicable from June 1-14, was made amid complex evolution of the COVID-19 pandemic in the southern metropolis.
Accordingly the national flag carrier Viet Nam Airlines, VietJetAir, Pacific Airlines, Bamboo Airways, and Vietravel Airlines shall operate 28, 20, 3, 11, and 1 round-trip flights, respectively.
Earlier on May 27, the Civil Aviation Authority of Viet Nam announced temporary suspension of international flights to the airport until June 4 to help the city focus on COVID-19 fight.
To date, the city has recorded 211 COVID-19 cases, including 200 cases confirmed by the Ministry of Health./.
