Agro-aquatic-forestry exports up nearly 21% in two months

VGP - Viet Nam gained US$8 billion from exporting agriculture-forestry-aquatic products in the first two months of 2022, a year-on-year increase of 20.9 percent, according to the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development.

In February alone, export value of agriculture-forestry-aquatic products reached nearly US$3.3 billion, up 21.8 percent in comparison with the same period last year.

February's total export and import value of farm products saw a year-on-year increase of 15.8 percent to US$14.2 billion. 

The U.S. remained the largest importer of Viet Nam's farm products over the first two months of the year with US$2.3 billion, making up 28.2 percent. 

It was followed by China with US$1.3 billion, Japan US$586 million and the Republic of Korea US$376 million. 

Meanwhile, China was the largest exporter of farm products to Viet Nam with US$607 million, accounting for 9.7 percent.
