The national tally includes 50 imported Omicron cases, said the ministry.

The same day, the ministry reported 26,031 recoveries, taking the total number of recovered cases to 1,661,930.

The ministry also announced further 206 fatalities, bringing the nation’s COVID-19 death toll to 35,170, or 1.8 percent of the national caseload.

The nation has administered 164,482,313 COVID-19 vaccine doses, an increase of 927,829 doses from Wednesday./.
