Acting President hosts newly-accredited ambassadors
VGP - Acting President Vo Thi Anh Xuan received letters of credentials from the new Ambassadors of Armenia, New Zealand, Turkey and Peru to Viet Nam, at a ceremony in Ha Noi on May 15.
Receiving Armenian Ambassador Suren Baghdasaryan, the Acting President spoke highly of Suren Baghdasaryan's experience and good affections for Viet Nam, which would help him to have a successful working term in Viet Nam.
She expressed her wish that the two countries would review the existing cooperative frameworks in order to build new ones and promote bilateral cooperation in such fields like economy, national defense and people-to-people exchanges.
Suren Baghdasaryan, for his part, said that there are abundant opportunities for the two countries to tap, especially in economic, trade, science and technology and education sectors.
During her reception for New Zealander Ambassador Caroline Rachael Beresford, the host leader pledged that the Vietnamese Government, ministries and sectors stand ready to accompany the Ambassador to fulfill her mission in Viet Nam.
The Acting President proposed the two sides should strengthen cooperation in potential fronts such as climate change and agriculture and spur linkages at multilateral forums including the UN.
The Kiwi Ambassador said the there are ample rooms for the bilateral relations. The New Zealander Government gives a priority to the ties with Viet Nam and expects to upgrade it in the coming time.
Hosting a reception for Turkish Ambassador, the host leader suggested the two countries should step up bilateral cooperation, especially in culture, tourism, people-to-people exchanges and local linkages.
Ambassador Korhan Kemik said that Turkey is ready to elevate ties with Viet Nam and hopes to perfect the legal system and cooperative agreements with Viet Nam.
At her reception for Peru's Ambassador Patricia Yolanda Raez Portocarrrero, Vo said the 30th anniversary of diplomatic ties (1994-2024) between Viet Nam and Peru provides a good chance for the two countries to devise new cooperative opportunities.
The Acting President underlined that Viet Nam always regards Peru as one of its leading partners in South America.
Ambassador Patricia Yolanda Raez Portocarrrero proposed the two countries should promptly implement agreements on visa exemption and local cooperation.
Peru is willing to welcome Vietnamese investors to set foot in such areas as telecommunication and energy, said the diplomat./.
