ACB receives VN’s strongest bank award

VGP - The Asia Commercial Bank (ACB) on April 20 received the Asian Banker magazine’s award for the strongest bank in Việt Nam in 2010.

April 20, 2010 7:26 PM GMT+7

This is the first time the Asian Banker has granted the strongest bank award to a Vietnamese bank. At the same time, ACB’s CEO Lý Xuân Hải received the Asian Banker Leadership Achievement Award 2010.

The strongest bank ranking is predicated on the following qualities: a superior domestic franchise under the leadership of the chairman or CEO; strong commitment to domestic customers at the product and service levels; strong governance structure at both the board and management levels under the leadership of the chairman or CEO recognized in the Leadership program; the ability to execute on strategy and respond to changes in the marketplace; and leading towards a stable and long term commitment to all shareholders.

ACB is striving to become one of three biggest financial and banking groups in Việt Nam by 2015.

Now, it is the 5th biggest bank in terms of total assets, and accounts for 10% of mobilized capital, over 57% market share of international credit cards, and a lion’s share of Western Union’s money transfer service in Việt Nam.
