The visit takes place just over a week after Vietnamese General Secretary To Lam's official visit to Singapore, during which the two countries decided to upgrade their ties to a comprehensive strategic partnership.

Singapore expects to promote cooperation with Viet Nam in such fields like offshore wind power projects and food security while Viet Nam wishes to cooperate with Singapore in building data centers and financial centers, said the Ambassador.

Viet Nam can also look forward to Singapore's support in human resource training and capacity building not only for strategic-level leaders but also for professionals, civil servants, and students.

The two countries can strengthen collaboration within ASEAN, as both are active and dynamic members that view ASEAN as a shared home for maintaining regional peace and stability, the diplomat added.

The recent establishment of the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, coupled with the upcoming visit, demonstrates Singapore's strong expectations for the partnership, said Professor Vu Minh Khuong from the Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy at the National University of Singapore. The visit also represents that strengthening ties with Viet Nam has become a strategic priority of the city-state in 2025 and beyond, he added.

Professor Bilveer Singh, Deputy Head of the Department of Political Science at the National University of Singapore, remarked that the visit clearly demonstrates Singapore's goodwill to promote bilateral relations./.
