9th National Congress of Viet Nam Farmers' Union opens in Ha Noi
VGP – The 9th National Congress of the Viet Nam Farmers' Union (VNFU) opened in Ha Noi on Sunday morning with the participation of 600 delegates representing more than 10 million farmers nationwide.

The congress, themed "Solidarity-Democracy-Breakthrough-Cooperation-Development", is the major political event of Vietnamese farmers under the leadership of the Communist Party of Viet Nam.
During the two-day congress, the delegates will discuss the Union's specific goals for the next five years.
VNFU is a socio-political organization and a member of the Viet Nam Fatherland Front, resonsible for uniting farmers, protecting their legitimate rights and interests, and promoting the development of agriculture and rural areas.
