782,000 laborers employed in first half
VGP – As many as 782,000 laborers were employed in the first half of 2018, equal to 99.6% of the same period last year, according to the Ministry of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs (MOLISA).

The number of laborers consulted and introduced to jobs at centers reached more than 1.46 million, of whom 32.2% found jobs.
In the first six months of this year, job placement centers organized 560 transactions, attracting 25-30 enterprises and 400-450 laborers per transaction.
To develop the labor market and create more jobs for laborers, the MOLISA will strengthen research and forecast of labor demands, enhance consultancy and orientation activities and organize more job placement fairs, said Deputy Minister of the MOLISA Doan Mau Diep.
Regarding labor export issues, the ministry will launch measures to maintain and develop overseas labor export and realize support policies for guest workers.
According to the General Statistics Office, the proportion of unemployment in the first quarter attained 2.2%, including 3.13% in urban areas and 1.73% in rural areas.
The proportion of trained laborers in the first half is estimated at 57.6%.
