60 localities further delay reopening of junior high schools due to COVID-19 outbreak

VGP – As many as 60 out of 63 provinces and cities in Viet Nam have decided to further delay reopening of kindergartens, primary and junior secondary schools until March 17.

Deputy Minister of Education and Training Nguyen Huu Do told the news at the meeting of the Steering Committee for COVID-19 Epidemic Prevention and Control, held on March 4.

Do said the ministry would release steps for health checks at schools this afternoon.

The Ministry of Health reported that 1,830 people were tested negative for the COVID-19 in Viet Nam as of 4 pm on Wednesday, up 61 cases from Tuesday.

 Meanwhile, 92 suspected cases are being quarantined and 16.191 other have been monitored due to close links with suspected cases and or coming from COVID-19 affected areas, an increase of 817 from a day earlier, according to the ministry./.
