11th Party Congress holds preparatory meeting
VGP – The 11 th National Party Congress held its preparatory session on January 11 in Hà Nội ahead of the official opening ceremony on January 12.

The meeting, chaired by member of the Politburo, State President Nguyễn Minh Triết, discussed and adopted the Congress’s agenda, working modality and election regulations, elected a presidium, a secretariat and delegate eligibility committee, and approved a report of this committee.
The 11th National Party Congress, take place from January 12-19 at the National Convention Centre in Hà Nội, themed “Continue enhancing the Party’s leadership capacity and combativeness, promoting the nation’s synergy, comprehensively boosting the Đổi mới (renewal) process, creating the fundamentals for Việt Nam to become a modern industrial country by 2020”.
The congress will discuss and adopt the Platform for National Construction in the transitional period toward Socialism, the Socio-economic Development Strategy for the 2011-2020 period, the Political Report by the 10th Party Central Committee submitted to the 11th National Party Congress, and the report summing up the enforcement of Party Stature and supplements and revisions to the Stature.
It will also elect a new Party Central Committee./.
