Why quantum technology is matter of national strategy?

General Secretary and President To Lam also required that quantum technology must be developed in association with national security, artificial intelligence, semiconductor industry and digital sovereignty.

With the above perspective, quantum technology is not just a separate research topic, it is part of the nation's new power structure, according to Tran Hong Thai, President of Viet Nam Academy of Science and Technology.

Data, national compute capacity, digital infrastructure, and core technologies have gradually become the decisive factors shaping the rankings of countries. Quantum technology will impact all these four areas.

Regarding orientations for the development of quantum technology, Tran said Viet Nam will prioritize the development of quantum communication and quantum security; quantum simulation, quantum algorithm, and quantum software; quantum sensing and metrology; quantum materials; and human resource training./.
