WCO praises VN’s customs role

VGP - Working with leaders of the Việt Nam Customs on July 29, Mr. Kunio Mikuriya, Secretary General of the World Customs Organization (WCO) highly appreciated the increasingly bigger role of Việt Nam’s customs in international customs forums.

He pledged to continue to assist the Vietnamese customs via WCO programs through facilitating its modernization toward advanced customs standards.

General Director of the Việt Nam Customs Nguyễn Ngọc Túc said the general department’s key goal in the 2011-2020 period is to increase its automation levels in order to come up with regional countries.

During his ongoing visit to Việt Nam, Mr. Kunio Mikuriya will have a working session with the Vietnamese Minister of Finance to discuss development orientations to ensure security of international trade chains and strengthen border security management.
