Foreign Ministry Spokesman Le Hai Binh made the statement on January 24 in response to reporters’ queries on Viet Nam’s reaction to the U.S.’s announcement to withdraw from the Trans-Pacific Partnership Agreement (TPP).
After six years, 12 nations in the TPP made efforts in negotiating and completing the signing of the TPP, a new-generation FTA.
The TPP is expected to meet the join benefits of its members, not only creating new forces for the economic and trade relations between nations but also having a crucial meaning to the economic cooperation and connection as well as the stability and prosperity in the Asia-Pacific region.
Viet Nam regards the participation in the TPP and other FTAs as a step in implementing dynamic and active guidelines for the comprehensive and intensive economic integration, completing the legal system and market economy mechanism, creating an impetus for development and contributing to the regional economic integration and connection trend.
