VN’s per capita income in 2050 estimated at $20,000: Goldman Sachs

VGP – Việt Nam’s income per capita is predicted at around 20,000 by 2050, according to Goldman Sachs at the latest report on BRICS economies, Business Insider posted.

The report also forecast the average GDP per person of G-7 (US, UK, France, Japan, Canada, Italy and Germany) and BRICs (Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa).

In the report, Goldman Sachs concerned 11 nations of N-11, including Việt Nam, Mexico, Nigeria, Egypt, Turkey, Iran, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Indonesia, the Republic of Korea and the Philippines.

Accordingly, by 2050, US will lead the world in terms of income per capita with estimated level of $80,000-90,000 per person per year, followed by Canada with $80,000, UK at below $80,000 and France at $75,000 per person per year.

Earlier, the Ministry of Planning and Investment (MPI) have targeted the average GDP per capita by 2015 will reach US$ 2,100, 1.7 times higher than in 2010.

Minister of Industry and Trade Vũ Huy Hoàng forecast that in 2011, Việt Nam’s gross domestic product (GDP) is expected to reach US $119 billion, while per capita income will be roughly $1,300./.
