VN willing to assist Angola in telecom, IT development

VGP – Viet Nam is willing to share experience in telecommunication and information technology (IT) development with Angola, said Deputy PM Vu Duc Dam at his reception for Angolan Minister of Telecommunication and Information Technologies José Carvalho da Rocha on March 14 in Ha Noi.

The Deputy PM hailed the relationship between the two nations, including crucial and effective cooperation in telecommunication, IT, information safety and human resource training, adding that the Angolan Minister’s to Viet Nam will mark a new development step in the two nations’ cooperative relations.

Over the recent 20 years the telecommunication and IT have become a key economic sector of Viet Nam with the total revenue of around US$16 billion. The nation has established telecommunication and IT businesses at international and regional levels with huge potentials in terms of capital, technology, resources and management, said Mr. Dam.

The Vietnamese Government encourages IT enterprises of the two sides to strengthen exchanges to seek for further cooperation, sharing and technology transfer, he said.

The Deputy PM expected that the Angolan Government to facilitate Vietnamese businesses, including ones operating in telecommunication and IT to launch projects in Angola.

Minister José Carvalho da Rocha asserted to support Vietnamese businesses’ activities to invest in telecommunication, IT and human resource training in Angola.

Earlier, the Angolan Minister held a working session with Minister of Information and Communications Truong Minh Tuan about cooperative potentials areas between the two nations.
