VN, UNCTAD pledge to step up cooperation in trade policy building

VGP – Viet Nam and the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD) agreed to promote cooperation in public debt management, administration, construction, trade policy analysis, investment, and development.

Mr. Hue stressed that Viet Nam advocates UNCTAD’s Agenda with practical programs and plans which promote the international trade system on the basis of law, transparency, coverage, non-discrimination, and in favor of development.

Secretary-General Mukhisa Kituyi congratulated the socio-economic and international integration achievements which Viet Nam has attained and welcomed the Southeast Asian nation to make positive contribution to the UNCTAD’s Agenda.

Mr. Mukhisa Kituyi stressed that Viet Nam set an example for other poor countries in the world in poverty eradication.

The Secretary-General also voiced his support for Mr. Hue’s suggestion on three-side cooperative model involving Viet Nam, UNCTAD, and African countries in implementing NAM-NAM connectivity policies.

Mr. Mukhisa Kituyi promised to promote the cooperative model during his second term as the UNCTAD Secretary-General.

In reply, Mr. Hue congratulated the guest leader on his re-appointment and hailed his practical support for Viet Nam in implementing sustainable development goals.

The Deputy PM took the occasion to seek UNCTAD’s support for Viet Nam in building successful economic mechanisms and international integration in the coming time./.
